As I sat down to create this project, I found myself thinking about my brother and sister-in-law, both retired Marines.

Military service isn’t just a career—it’s a commitment that impacts entire families. The sacrifices, dedication, and strength required to serve are difficult to put into words, but they deserve to be remembered and appreciated.

This card is a small nod to their service and a reminder that handmade cards can carry more than a sentiment—they can carry gratitude, memories, and appreciation.

One of the things I love most about card making is the ability to create something personal. Sometimes a card starts with paper and stamps, and sometimes it starts with a person who inspires the design.

A favorite part of creating this card was the challenge itself.

Believe it or not, I didn’t really have a collection of patriotic products tucked away in my craft room. Instead of letting that stop me, I challenged myself to work with what I already had on hand. A little creative thinking, a few color choices, and some unexpected supplies came together to create a design that tells the story I wanted to share.

Sometimes the best projects aren’t about having the perfect stamp set—they’re about looking at the supplies you already own in a new way.

Along the way, I even stumbled onto a fun new way to use my acrylic blocks, proving once again that creativity has a funny way of showing up when you’re willing to experiment!
