Hey everyone! Thought I would pop in with another fun tip for those uh oh moments!
Did you know that you can make your own Silver Foil cardstock using 3 items – this includes a basic household product?

While I was preparing things for our Facebook Live card class, I had this awesome realization that someone is out of Brushed Silver Foil – I’m not sure who that would be 🙈

I was originally just going to grab my retired Holographic Specialty paper as a substitute when my mom verbally smacked in the back of the head… “Aluminum Foil works too” she says. Big brain moment! I grabbed the aluminum foil off the shelf and ran away!
I’m going to quickly show you how I took a piece of regular old aluminum foil – well it’s heavy duty but regular would work too…and turned it into a foil sheet for our project.
Fun Fact: I cant say that word Aluminum without singing it! Weird right?!
Let’s jump in to making foil paper!

First I grabbed my much needed supplies: Aluminum Foil – obviously 🙄, Thick Basic White Cardstock and Adhesive Sheets.

Starting off by cutting my cardstock, adhesive sheet and foil down to 6” x 11”

Attached the adhesive sheet to the Basic White Thick Cardstock.
Note: I am using thick cardstock to give the foil more stability. I don’t want to be trimming it down and tearing it. I’m sure regular cardstock will work as well. It’s a preference thing I think.

Lining up the aluminum foil (I found was easier to lay the foil on the table and line the cardstock to it – turn it over so the foil is facing up once it’s lined up), as foil likes to be uncooperative at times. Make sure the dull side is down!

Why work in sections? I like to keep the thought of it’s better to have to waste a little bit then the entire thing if something should go wrong – which is usually does.
Smooth the foil down – my shirt sleeve was used but any soft towel would work.

I don’t advise using your hand alone, foil is sharp, can and will cause blood and no one likes that on our handmade foil. 🩹
I trimmed mine up a little bit cutting off the rough edges and have already trimmed it down to size for our project on our Live Card Class this evening on Facebook!
I hope this tip was helpful should you ever have a silver foil emergency! Pop on over to our Facebook page tonight at 7pm (CST) to see just how I use this in our project!
I promise it’s a fun one!
Happy Stamping!

I will provide the measurements and products I use during the classes but the creativity is limitless and you can choose whatever products you would like. There is no right or wrong.
These classes are really just to bring us all together once a month and have some crafty time and relax. The class will be the last Saturday of the Month at 7pm CST and last about an hour.
With that said, I’m always open to suggestions and anything you all might be interested in or a theme you would like to see! Just give me a shout over on my social media pages and let me know!

So many uses and attachments for this little tool that makes crafting so much easier! I have 3 currently in my tools drawer! |
2.Stampin’ Glass Mat Studio (Imperial)

This glass mat is amazing! I love that you can write on it, stamp on it and use it to line up paper. Easy to use and super easy to clean up when you’re all done! |
3.Simply Scored | |

The Simply Scored is in my top 5 because it make scoring easy when you’re doing a bunch of scoring at once or intricate score marks for a fold. Also saves you from cutting when wanting to score! The diagonal board is also super helpful when doing scores for envelopes and boxes. |
4.Blending Brushes | |

Oh my blending brushes. These little fellows are a blessing when it comes to adding color and making scenes! I could write an entire book on why you should have these in your tool bag! |
5.Soft Pastels Assortment

These are a sentimental favorite. I have been using soft pastels in art work since high school. They are a unique color tool that believe it or not has a lot of different uses and color techniques. If you want to explore coloring then grab a set of these! |
