This card started as a simple idea… and then took on a life of its own 😅.

I went a little bigger than usual — literally — with a large slimline card using the adorable Stampin’ Up! Cutest Crew Bundle (because apparently “normal size” was not on today’s agenda 😏).

What started as an “oh this will be cute” moment quickly turned into one of those creative spirals where you’re adding just one more thing… and then suddenly questioning all your life choices.

But honestly? Those are usually the projects that turn out the most fun.

Pet Mom Edition
Elegant Mom Edition
I ended up creating two versions of the same design:
  • 🐾 A pet mom card inspired by my sister — featuring her very sassy cat, Baxter (yes, the attitude was fully intentional 😄)
  • 💐 A classic mom card with the same layout, just a slightly different feel – to be posted shortly

Same design, two totally different vibes — which makes this layout even more fun to play with.

And if you’re thinking, “okay but how do I actually make this?” — don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.

This unique shaped card is:

  • Moderately friendly – not really for my early beginners
  • Easy to customize
  • Designed for maximum impact and uniqueness

✉️ Don’t Forget the Envelope!
Since this card decided to be a little extra at 4” x 9”, I’ve included a custom envelope template so it actually has somewhere to go 😄
Finished envelope size: 4-1/8” x 9-1/8”.

I will have this included in the PDF as soon as I get it uploaded. The weather is crazy wild and slowing things down 🌪️⛈️

💛 A Little Project Update

Because apparently one oversized slimline card wasn’t enough… I took this project a step further 😏

After sharing the original design, I had several messages asking for a simpler version using the same layout and pattern — something a little more beginner-friendly and less “questioning all my life choices” level of crafting.

And honestly? I love that idea.

So I created a second version that keeps the same overall design but simplifies the layers and details, making it perfect for newer crafters or anyone wanting a quicker project with the same fun result.

Rectangle Simple Edition

Same inspiration.
Less chaos.
Still cute.

And yes — I also created a video for that version too ✂️💛

✉️ Envelope Update (and a small crafting oops)

Since these larger slimline cards needed custom envelopes, I also put together an envelope tutorial to make sure they had somewhere to go.

Did I accidentally grab the wrong blade at one point and create a small “well that’s not right” moment?

Absolutely.

Did we recover and keep crafting anyway?

Also yes 😆

Because that’s real life crafting.

The finished envelope fits the 4” x 9” card perfectly with a final size of 4-1/8” x 9-1/8”.

      Thank you Lisa, it is a bit more challenging than my normal cards. That being said, once you see how it’s done it goes together fairly quickly. You can also change it up just a bit by making it rectangle vs oval. I have a video in process showing how to create it. Uploads are delayed due to weather interference with our internet. Hopefully everything will be uploaded this afternoon. I’ll also create a quick alternate with a simpler shape for an easier design.
